The latest edition of Champions Matchday, the official magazine of the UEFA Champions League, looks forward to some fascinating ties in the knockout phase while recalling the best of the action of a remarkable group stage.

Ahead of FC Barcelona's round of 16 encounter with AC Milan, cover star and defensive lynchpin Gerard Piqué talks exclusively about life on and off the pitch, his return to form and becoming a father. "You have to start over [after injury] and regain a positive feeling. It's not simply regaining confidence, but you sustain yourself with the idea that in the end the good things will come again."

Good times have certainly returned to Galatasaray AŞ since coach Fatih Terim was restored to the dugout. Now in his third term with the Turkish Super League champions, Terim discusses the keys to success ahead of his side's last 16 showdown with FC Schalke 04.

Elsewhere, Champions Matchday examines Lionel Messi's game, speaks to Valencia CF's Tino Costa and Málaga CF's Joaquín, sits in as Lucas Moura signs on at Paris Saint-Germain FC, and recalls the influences on Theo Walcott's rise from promising starlet to star player.

Also in the new issue: Jürgen Klopp, who led Borussia Dortmund to the top of Group D, reveals – exclusively – how his team learned from last season and relish the role of underdog; FC Porto's Vítor Pereira explains his footballing philosophy; we look at Massimiliano Allegri's tactical masterplans that have taken Milan to the last 16; we spotlight Antonio Conte's commitment to a rejuvenated Juventus; and the UEFA.com Users' Team of the Year 2012 is announced.
