Zenit strengthen with Neto and Rodić

Friday 1 February 2013 22.35 CET
Luís Neto has had an impressive season with Siena

FC Zenit St Petersburg have made their first signings this winter by bringing in AC Siena centre-back Luís Neto and OFK Beograd left-back Milan Rodić.

The 24-year-old Neto, who received his maiden call-up to the Portugal squad last Autumn but is yet to win his first cap, has joined the Russian champions on a long-term contract for a reported fee of €6m. He moved to Siena from CD Nacional in summer 2012 and had already made 20 Serie A appearances this season.

Rodić, a 21-year-old who has played eight times for the Serbia Under-21 side, had spent his entire career at Beograd, making 71 league appearances and scoring three goals. No details of the transfer fee or contract were announced by Russian champions.

Zenit host Liverpool FC in the UEFA Europa League round of 32 first leg on 14 February with the return at Anfield taking place a week later.
