Rooney keeps United firing as Chelsea slip

Premier League leaders Manchester United FC stretched their advantage to ten points thanks to a Wayne Rooney goal at Fulham FC but by contrast Chelsea FC fell victim to a late winner.
Rooney struck in last weekend's 4-1 FA Cup victory against Fulham and his calm side-footed finish 11 minutes from time made the difference in the 1-0 success. The England forward had earlier hit a post, as had team-mate Patrice Evra and Bryan Ruiz for Fulham. Second-placed Manchester City FC host Liverpool FC tomorrow.
Frank Lampard and Juan Mata goals gave third-placed Chelsea a 2-1 lead at Newcastle after 61 minutes, but the Magpies' recent recruit from Toulouse FC, Moussa Sissoko, struck twice on his home debut, his second in the 90th minute, to seal a 3-2 win. Lampard has, however, reached ten league goals for the tenth straight season.
Aston Villa FC, without a league win since the 15 December, were 3-1 up against Everton FC only for Marouane Fellaini to halve the deficit before scoring in the final minute to earn a draw. Everton are level on points with fourth-placed Tottenham Hotspur FC but only one ahead of Arsenal FC, who beat Stoke City FC 1-0.
