Serigne Mbodji spent three seasons at Tromsø

KRC Genk have signed defender Serigne Mbodji from Norwegian side Tromsø IL while loaning out three players.

The 23-year-old Senegalese stopper, who can also operate as a defensive midfielder, moved to Norway after coming through the Diambars football academy in his home country. He has penned a contract with Genk until 30 June 2016 to end his three-year stay at Tromsø, for whom he played three times in UEFA Europa League qualifying this term.

Meanwhile, three players will be leaving Mario Been's ranks for the remainder of the season. Midfielder David Hubert will join KAA Gent, defender Stef Peeters has been loaned out to Sparta Rotterdam until 30 June 2014 after signing a contract extension at Genk until the following summer, while forward Kennedy Nwanganga heads to K. Beerschot AC.

Genk play VfB Stuttgart in the UEFA Europa League round of 32 after topping Group G, with the first leg in Germany on 14 February.
