Gerrard's England century

Friday 16 November 2012 10.39 CET
Steven Gerrard celebrates winning his 100th cap ahead of England's 4-2 defeat to Sweden at the Friends Arena

Steven Gerrard made his England debut back in 2000, but the gloss was taken off the celebrations as he reached 100 caps when Sweden's Zlatan Ibrahimović scored four goals to down Roy Hodgson's side 4-2 on Wednesday's opening night at the Friends Arena in Solna. However, it will be for his dedication and brilliance on the field – and his 19 international goals – that the 32-year-old England and Liverpool FC captain will be remembered by a generation of Three Lions supporters.
