Juventus players celebrate after Sebastian Giovinco's goal against Pescara

Juventus stretched their lead at the top of Serie A and put the pressure on second-placed FC Internazionale Milano with an emphatic 6-1 victory against Pescara.

Inter had closed the gap to just a single point after becoming the first side to defeat Juventus this season last weekend, but the Bianconeri bounced back in stunning fashion, scoring five first-half goals to sweep aside Pescara.

An early Arturo Vidal strike set the ball rolling, before Fabio Quagliarella and Pescara's Emmanuel Cascione traded efforts. Kwadwo Asamoah's overhead kick and Sebastian Giovinco's volley extinguished any hope the home side had of drawing level, before Quagliarella doubled his tally for the night on the stroke of half-time.

The former UC Sampdoria forward completed the scoring, and his treble, in style, meeting an Andrea Pirlo corner with an acrobatic volley shortly after the restart.

In stark contrast to events at the Stadio Adriatico, Cagliari Calcio were held to a goalless stalemate by Calcio Catania.
