FC Barcelona will be without Adriano for Wednesday's UEFA Champions League encounter away to Celtic FC after the full-back sustained an adductor tear in his team's 3-1 Liga win against RC Celta de Vigo.
Adriano scored the opener in Saturday's victory at the Camp Nou but was subsequently replaced by Daniel Alves in the 31st minute after succumbing to the injury to his right thigh.
Following subsequent tests, club medics estimate the 28-year-old will be out for around three weeks, meaning he is also in danger of missing the matchday five meeting with FC Spartak Moskva on 20 November.
The news will come as a blow to coach Tito Vilanova, who has defender Carles Puyol sidelined with a serious elbow injury while Gerard Piqué continues to nurse a foot complaint. Barcelona lead Group G following wins in each of their three games.
